Baird-Parker Agar is used to detect and isolate Staphylococcus aureus, particularly by its ability to produce black colonies due to the reduction of tellurite in the medium.
Cetrimide Agar
Cetrimide Agar is used to isolate and identify Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as the medium contains cetrimide, which inhibits the growth of most other bacteria, while P. aeruginosa produces distinctive blue-green colonies due to the production of pyocyanin.
ChromoBio Enterococus Agar
ChromoBio Enterococcus Agar is used to selectively isolate and differentiate Enterococcus species based on their ability to produce distinct colored colonies due to the enzymatic breakdown of specific chromogenic substrates in the medium.
Endo M Broth
Endo M Broth is used for the selective isolation and detection of coliform bacteria, particularly Escherichia coli, in water and food samples, as it contains dyes that produce red colonies for coliforms, helping to distinguish them from non-coliforms.
MacConkey Agar
MacConkey Agar is used to isolate and differentiate gram-negative bacteria, particularly Enterobacteriaceae, based on their ability to ferment lactose, with lactose fermenters producing pink colonies and non-lactose fermenters forming colorless colonies.
MFC Agar
MFC Agar is used to detect and enumerate fecal coliforms, particularly Escherichia coli, in water and food samples, with fecal coliforms producing blue colonies due to the fermentation of methylene blue in the medium.
Mueller-Hinton Agar
Mueller-Hinton Agar is used for antibiotic susceptibility testing of bacteria, providing a standardized medium for the growth of microorganisms to determine their resistance or sensitivity to various antibiotics.
M-Green Agar
M-Green Agar is used to selectively isolate and differentiate yeasts and molds, particularly in food and water samples.
Malt Extract Agar
